FAQ
What is the quickest way to start?
Open Home, choose a project, then click Select Project. After selecting a project, use the Search page to find records.
Do I need to sign in before searching?
You can browse public pages without signing in. To unlock protected details, view protected images, download PDFs, purchase credits, and use My Records, you must sign in with Google and accept the terms.
Why can't I search yet?
Search requires an active project selection. If Search is unavailable, go back to Home, select a project, and then return to Search.
How do I choose a different project?
Go to Home and select another project. Your search context follows the currently selected project.
How do I read a record?
Run a search, open a result, and review the visible preview fields. Some fields or actions may be locked depending on project policy settings.
What does "Transcription locked" mean?
It means protected text fields are hidden until you unlock transcription access for that record. After unlock, those fields become visible according to project rules.
What does "Image locked" mean?
It means record images are protected and require image unlock for that record. Once unlocked, image slides and related image actions become available.
How do I unlock fields or images?
On the Record Details page, use the unlock buttons in the Actions section. Each unlock shows a credit cost. If successful, your balance updates immediately.
What if I do not have enough credits?
You will see a message that credits are insufficient, then you can continue to bundle selection to purchase more credits.
How do I buy credits?
Go to Wallet or use Purchase Credit from a record page. Choose a bundle and complete the top-up flow. Credits are added to your wallet balance.
How do I download a PDF?
Open a record, unlock any required actions, then click Download PDF in Actions. The PDF includes currently permitted record data and applies system watermark/legal controls.
Where can I see what I already unlocked?
Open My Records from the top navigation. Active unlocks are listed first, and expired unlock history is shown separately.
Why can a record still be unavailable even if I found it?
This portal follows government privacy and records-access regulations. A record may appear in search context, but access is only granted when the record meets the legal release rules configured for that project (for example, age-based privacy cutoffs or restricted fields). If a record does not meet those compliance rules, full viewing or protected actions may be blocked.
Why did I get a "Rate limit exceeded" message?
The site applies anti-abuse protections to prevent scraping and automated rapid-fire requests. Wait briefly and try again.
Who can help if something looks wrong?
If you see missing images, unexpected lock states, or a failed purchase/unlock, contact site support or an administrator with the error reference shown in the message.
